Insiders of the green beauty scene often affectionately refer to Dr. Alkaitis as “the Godfather of Organic Skin Care”.  During the early 1990’s he became aware of  the potentially harmful ingredients present in the skin care products his beloved wife Paula and daughter Trish were using. To protect their health, he used his extensive research and knowledge of plants to develop and formulate a high performance skin care line, working exclusively with completely clean, edible ingredients. He introduced the first products of his line in 1996. A true pioneer in the field, he was the first to start formulating with the strict guideline that we still use today

THE LEGACY: A WORD

Twenty-six years ago, my father, Dr. Saulius Alkaitis gifted these products to my mother when he discovered that the ingredients in her supposedly ‘natural’ skin care products contained harmful chemicals and were not in fact as safe as they claimed to be. 

As a chemist, he had full knowledge of the effects and consequences of using these chemicals, and it was easy for him to dissect ingredient labels to get a snapshot of the future damage they could cause to the body. He took all his research and plant knowledge and went to work using an absolute formulating guideline:  “if you can’t eat it, don’t put it on your skin”™. He insisted on working only with edible, certified organic, biodynamic, and ethically wild-crafted ingredients of the highest quality from around the world.
